Yes. Having the ability to generate the current date dynamically in the date filters of a custom task report allows you, for instance, to configure a custom task report that will capture all soon due and overdue tasks in the account.
Example: Creating a soon due and overdue tasks custom task report
Step 1: Multi-select the Waiting and In Progress status types in the task filters area.
Step 2: Set up two date filter lines using AceProject’s ability to generate the current date dynamically:
Estimated End Date Is earlier than or on [today]+3 (You have to physically type in “[today]+3” in the date field at the end of the date filter line.)
Estimated End Date Is later than or on [today]-7 (You have to physically type in “[today]-7” in the date field at the end of the date filter line.)
In this example, all tasks that are late by a week or less and tasks that must be completed in the next three days will be captured in the report. Your report will be saved so you will be able to use it over and over. Furthermore, AceProject will generate the value of [today] (the current date) each time you generate the report so you won’t ever have to edit your date filter lines.
