Deleting a task has the following impacts:

  • All task information and assignments on the task are deleted.
  • All task documents associated with the task are deleted.
  • Dependencies associated with the task are deleted.
  • Time sheets for the task are deleted.

Upon task deletion, AceProject sends out a task update e-mail notification to all assignees and reviewers as well as to the task creator, provided these users have opted in for task update notifications.

    I no longer need a task but if I delete it, then all history goes away…which cannot happen. How can I prevent further usage of a task without losing historical information?

      If you set the task complete, normal users assignee will not be able to edit it, but only add comment on it. Admin and project managers will be able to re-open it later.
